Ultrasonic rhinoplasty is a new technique that uses ultrasound waves to gently sculpt the nasal bones. Instead of breaking the bones with a chisel and hammer like the traditional technique, an instrument called the piezotome (or piezo) is used to gently and precisely remodel the nasal bones.

Ultrasonic rhinoplasty addresses the bony part of the nose, so the upper third portion. It is used to remove a dorsal hump, narrow the bony walls or correct a deviation.
